The Joy Luck Club

The other night William Netflicked me the Joy Luck Club. He had never seen it. I actually love this film, I used to watch it with my mom and sisters. I love the vignettes about all of the different women's lives and seeing how they interact with their daughters. This movie always makes me cry. I think I cry because I see so much of my own mother in the characters, though she is Vietnamese and the women in the film are Chinese. I would like to read The Joy Luck Club and also re-read the book my parents wrote about my mom's life. My mom has overcome so much in her life and is such a strong woman, sometimes I forget and that really is a disservice to her. She inspires me.
