In the beginning

Flower Power

I've had a really bad week. I haven't felt very good and work has been trying. I had an especially bad day today, I won't (and can't) provide the details, but it was rough. I came home and started making dinner. William arrived home about a half hour later and unlocked the door, went to push it open and as usual, couldn't. I can't seem to break my habit of unconsciously securing the deadbolt every time I get in the door. It's an automatic action...Now I know some of you are going to try to pull that "It's a Freudian slip! You don't want to be with your husband!" But it really is just left over paranoia and force of habit from living alone for so long. This started the door bell ringing, and not the "normal" bell ringing but the "It's Millhouse--And he's got big news!" ring. (My faithful Simpson watching friends will know what I mean...you know who you are!) Anywhoo, I am trying to wash my hands and yelling to him from the kitchen to wait a minute. He's ringing away, at this point I am thinking someone must have released the hounds or the bees, or the hounds with bees in their mouths, who shoot bees when they bark on him...I swing open the door and he's got a huge, beautiful vase of flowers for me. He comes in and gives me a big kiss and suddenly, my bad day, just got a whole lot better. It's amazing how one sincere, loving gesture can make things better. Thanks Honey!

Photos here (Labor Day Album)

I apologize for the poor red-eye editing. I was in a hurry. Somehow, Michelle didn't make it into any of the pictures. Perhaps some of the ones Justin took will feature mom and baby.

I'm thankful to have such a good friend like Justin. I promise that next time he and I go canoeing, I'll not hassle him so much about his rowing technique.

Labor Day Weekend made me baby crazy!

Actually, I'm not as baby crazy as I thought I'd be...Though Kayleigh was great! She has a good temperament, barely fussed. I can't believe how big she's gotten, she's such a cutie!

We had a great weekend with the Russell's. We got to do some shopping and spent time just hanging out. I also got to spend much needed time with my husband, it's amazing how much you can miss someone, even if you "see" them everyday!
