Running on empty

I often run my truck down to the last drop of gasoline. And by often, I mean every tank. I've been told that, for various automotive reasons, that this is bad for your vehicle. I'm not sure about being bad for your vehicle, but if you unsuccessfully try to pull out that last mile on a drop of gasoline, it is definitely bad for your pride. Shame is increased seven-fold if your wife is in the truck with you.

I feel pretty dumb about the whole thing, which ensures that I will not ever run out of gasoline again, especially with Sammi in the truck. The good news is that we now own a small emergency gasoline can.
